WasteSorted Community Education Grants 2025

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Welcome to the WasteSorted Community Education Grants online grant application service, powered by SmartyGrants.  WasteSorted Community Education grants are supported by the Government of Western Australia and the Waste Authority.  

Please note:

  • this grant is for incorporated NFP's, community organisations, businesses, local governments, regional councils and education organisations (such as universities). 
  • Schools are not eligible for this grant. If you are from a WA school accredited with the WasteSorted Schools program, please refer to the WasteSorted Schools grants here.

NAVIGATING (MOVING THROUGH) THE APPLICATION FORM

  • On every screen (page of the form) you will find a Form Navigation contents box, this links directly to every page of the application. Click the link to jump directly to the page you want.
  • You can also click 'next page' or 'previous page' on the top or bottom of each page to move forward or backward through the application.

SPELL CHECK

  • Most internet browsers, like Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari have built in spell checkers. You can turn this feature on or off in your browser settings.

SAVING YOUR DRAFT APPLICATION

  • If you need to leave your partially completed application, just click 'Save and Close' and log out. When you log back in, go to the 'My Submissions' link at the top of the screen to see a list of your started or submitted applications. You can reopen your draft and continue from where you left off.
  • You can also download any application, whether it's a draft or completed, as a PDF. Just click the 'Download PDF' button at the bottom of the last page of the application form.

ATTACHMENTS AND SUPPORT DOCUMENTS

  • You will need to upload attachments to support your application. It's easy to do, but make sure you have the documents saved on your computer or a storage device.
  • Please allow enough time for each file to upload before trying to attach another file. Files can be up to 25MB each; however, we do recommend trying to keep files to a maximum of 5MB – the larger the file, the longer the upload time.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

  • You'll find the Review and Submit button at the bottom of the Navigation Panel. Make sure to review your application before submitting it.
  • After reviewing, you can submit your application by clicking 'Submit' at the top or bottom of the screen, or on the navigation panel. Remember, you can't submit until all required questions are answered and there are no errors.
  • Once submitted, you won't be able to edit or upload any more materials.
  • You'll receive a confirmation email with a copy of your application attached. This will be sent to the email you registered with.
  • If you don't get a confirmation email, assume your application wasn't submitted.

Hint: also check the email hasn't ended up in your spam or junk email folder.

COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN A GROUP/TEAM

  • Multiple people can work on an application using the same login details, but only one person should be working at a time. Make sure to save your work regularly.
